EarPins FAQ

EarPins FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do they stay on? EarPins are shaped somewhat like a bobby pin, i.e. they have the design on the front of the EarPin and the back, or other half, is a thin wire which fits comfortably in the natural crease behind your ear.

How can non-pierced people wear them?

These are the most comfortable earrings the non-pierced woman will ever wear! As mentioned above, the EarPin is shaped somewhat like a bobby pin, so it slides right on your earlobe securely, without piching or drooping. And unlike other made-for-non-pierced earrings, they look wonderful- not as if they are just "modified" to fit. The look is very similar to the way it is worn on a pierced ear.

Don't they fall off?

No! Or I should say, not anymore than any other type of earring. In the many years we have carried them, and the thousands of pairs we've sold, we've only had a few customers lose an EarPin. One lady caught hers on the washcloth while in the shower and it went down the drain, and the other caught her long hair IN the EarPin and pulled it off at a dance. We don't recommend you sleep or shower in any jewelry, including the EarPins. Both ladies were pierced, too! We can order just one if you need it, which is a wonderful service no other earring manufacturer offers.

Are they easier to lose than "regular" earrings?

See the paragraph above!

They look like they might pinch... do they?

No! EarPins should be super comfortable. If you are experiencing pinching, they are too tight and should be SLIGHTLY adjusted at the bottom of the EarPin. Be careful not to just pull them apart at the middle or top, as then they may droop! If you don't feel comfortable adjusting them yourself, just send them back and we'll be glad to do it for you!

Mine keep drooping- what's the problem?

Drooping is caused by two things: 1) You are not correctly placing the back of the EarPin wire into the natural crease on the back of your ear; or 2) They have been opened up too widely at the top, where the opening is... press this area closer together for a better fit.

Do they break easily?

No! In the many years we have sold EarPins, we have only seen a few broken earpins! Usually, they have to be vaccuumed up or stepped on to damage them! However, they come with limited guarantee against manufacturer's defects. They are well made (right here in the USA!) and as long as you treat them with the care you do all your other fine jewelry pieces, they will last you a lifetime.

I've misplaced one of my EarPins- can I order just a single?

Yes! To order a single EarPin, we will need to know if you need the left or right one and the style number. There is a $5 additional charge for splitting a pair, so the cost would be half the price of a pair, plus $5. Please note: Single EarPins are considered special orders and are not returnable.

What if I want a certain gemstone in a certain style of EarPins? Can that be done?

Yes! Just call us toll-free at 1-877-5-EARPINS and ask us! Or e-mail your request to stacey@earpins.com.

Do you have to be pierced to wear EarPins?

No! Non-pierced people can easily and comfortably wear EarPins, so you can order with confidence! You will love them and you can finally own REAL diamond earrings!

Can they be worn in the second pierced hole?

Yes! The smaller EarPins (3/4" or shorter) fit perfectly in the curve of your ear- and are even more attractive than stud earrings traditionally worn there! Our experience has shown that pairs longer than one inch do not "sit right" in the curve of most people's ears, so we don't recommend them as a mail order item for the second hole.

What quality of stones are used in the cubic zirconia (CZ) pairs?

Only premium quality cubic zirconias are used in the cubic zirconia EarPin styles- sparkly, gorgeous and full of fire.

Why can't I find EarPins for sale in jewelry stores in my area?

The designers of the EarPin are very selective about what stores can carry their product. We feature the EarPin as one of the signature items in our store and as such sell many, many pairs a year and have a great working relationship with the factory.
